Day Four: We fly south

On route south to Aysen to the hiking part of the trip. I had to take a photo of our airline stewards. Chileanos are amongst the most beautiful people of the world. Don't you think?

When we got into the Balmaceda Airport we noticed that they build innocuous fences  

and breezy towers

We got there in one piece and it was COLD and WINDY. This airport is close to Argentina so as we drove west, the weather improved a  little. This is what Summer can look like in Patagonia. 

We stoped at a large grocery store on our way to Cheechi's home in Aysen. And we find a checker wearing a Mercer Island sweatshirt! Which is a local Seattle highschool. How weird is that?

Here we stopped at the side of the road. Marveling the first of many many awesome mountain landscapes. I was so looking forward to tomorrows hike!
